On July 21st, the “Photovoltaic Industry Development Review and the Second Half Outlook Seminar in the first half of 2016” hosted by the China Photovoltaic Industry Association was held in Beijing Wanshou Hotel. The conference continued the purpose of “summing the past and looking forward to the future” in the previous three-term retrospective series of conferences, and invited industry leaders and representatives of important research institutions in the industry to discuss the policies, industries and markets of the photovoltaic industry in the first half of 2016. The development of technology, foreign trade and other aspects were carried out, the authoritative industry data was released, the characteristics of the industry development were analyzed, and the trend of the second half of the year was pre-judgmented.
Wang Weiwei, Director of the Electronic Information Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Xing Yiteng, Deputy Director of the New Energy Department of the National Energy Administration, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The meeting was chaired by Secretary-General Wang Bohua of China Photovoltaic Industry Association. More than 300 people from 154 units including member associations, relevant industry organizations, research institutes, consulting institutions, and financial institutions attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the leaders of the industry departments introduced the latest industry policies and the next steps. China Photovoltaic Industry Association, China Poverty Alleviation Volunteer Service Promotion Association, Energy Research Institute of National Development and Reform Commission, China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Mechanical and Electrical Products, Hydropower and Water Conservancy Planning and Design Institute Leaders and experts of the Silicon Industry Branch of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, well-known analysts of the famous research institute Bloomberg New Energy, and technical experts leading photovoltaic companies made keynote speeches at the meeting.
Looking back at the first half of 2016, China's photovoltaic industry is booming, the industrial scale is growing steadily, the capacity utilization rate of enterprises is effectively improved, and the profitability is significantly improved. From January to June, China's polysilicon production was about 95,000 tons, up about 28.4% year-on-year; wafer production was nearly 30GW, up 51% year-on-year; battery production was about 25GW, up 37.4% year-on-year; module production was about 27GW, up 37.8% year-on-year. . At the same time, the industrial technology level continued to progress, and the industrialization process of advanced scientific research results was significantly accelerated. In addition, under the influence of the “One Belt and One Road” strategic guidance and the international trade protection situation, the overseas layout of China's PV companies has accelerated and the pace of “going out” has been accelerating.
Looking forward to the second half of 2016, in the global market, due to the adjustment of multi-country policies, PV installations may show a trend of “pre-tightening and loosening”. The project development enthusiasm is less than the first half of the year; in China's market, the installed capacity in the second half is still expected to remain at a high level. The implementation of favorable policies such as front-runners, photovoltaic poverty alleviation and guaranteed acquisitions will make China's PV market brighter; in terms of technology routes, new technology applications and new product development speeds will accelerate, further driving the cost of power generation to continue to decline, and PERC battery capacity will Rapid growth; in terms of industrial development, by improving the level of intelligence and informationization of the production process, photovoltaic manufacturing will continue to evolve to “photovoltaic innovation”, and accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the photovoltaic industry and improve the quality and efficiency of development.
As a national industry organization focusing on the development of photovoltaic industry, China Photovoltaic Industry Association has been closely monitoring the development of the photovoltaic industry, and held two annual/semi-annual review and prospect series seminars at the beginning and middle of each year to inform the latest development of the industry. Situation, analyze the development trend of the industry, and study the hot issues encountered in the development of the industry. On the basis of summing up experience, China Photovoltaic Industry Association will continue to develop and improve, and build an authoritative information exchange platform for the industry to help promote the healthy development of China's photovoltaic industry.
