Solutions to several problems in the structure and design of high pole lights

The application of high pole lights has attracted the attention and favor of many companies, but there are some problems in structural design, lighting creativity, design and so on, which has caused a lot of confusion for the owner's use and selection. This paper discusses five problems in the structure and design of high pole lights and proposes corresponding solutions. The main problems of the single "naked" street lamps currently on the market are as follows:
1, material surface treatment (including power supply), it is difficult to withstand the erosion of long-term harsh environment. The so-called "naked" street lights are generally street lights that are directly exposed to the radiator. Some manufacturers believe that this is more conducive to heat dissipation, but the premise is that the lamps must be installed in an environment that is relatively clean and unaffected by harsh external conditions. In practical applications, the lamps are directly installed outdoors, and may be exposed to acid rain and sandstorms. Blizzard, exposure and other harsh environments.
Secondly, due to the small specific gravity of aluminum alloy and superior heat dissipation performance, the heat sink of high pole lamp is generally made of aluminum alloy, but the chemical properties of aluminum alloy are very active, it is easy to react with acid and alkali, and it is very easy to be exposed to air. Oxidation. Although the corrosion resistance of the aluminum alloy is greatly improved after the anodizing treatment, it is impossible to ensure that the oxide film is not damaged when the lamp is installed. When the oxide film is damaged, the active chemical properties of the aluminum alloy can be expressed. In some places with high pollution, acid rain is likely to occur. Acid water will accumulate in some gaps and grooves on the lamp body. After rain, the volatilization of acid water in the gap or groove will corrode the lamp body and be corroded. The lamp body not only affects the appearance, heat dissipation, but also affects the mechanical properties. In addition, the "naked" street lamp is very easy to accumulate dust and snow due to the structural characteristics of the radiator itself. The dust covered on the radiator will greatly reduce the heat dissipation performance of the aluminum alloy, while the surface of the snow seems to be more conducive to heat dissipation, but in fact, in the cold weather, the heat dissipation of the lamp is sufficient, and a large amount of snow will instead The pole caused a lot of pressure.
2, the rectangular appearance design does not meet the wind resistance requirements. The rectangular shape referred to herein means that the luminaire has a nearly rectangular shape, and each surface has a large-area plane. Such a plane is better stressed. When the wind blows vertically from a certain plane, its plane cannot differentiate the wind, which puts pressure on the lamp post and the fixed structure of the lamp. This kind of pressure is not obvious under normal circumstances. However, when the lamp post has been aging and corroded for a long time, if it hits a typhoon in the coastal area, there may be a risk that the pole will be tilted or bent or the lamp may fall.
3, the heat island effect causes a high failure rate of the high pole lamp. The heat island effect mainly means that the temperature of the city is higher than that of the surrounding suburbs. It seems that a warm island is distributed in the cooler "ocean" of the countryside. This phenomenon becomes the heat island effect. In fact, this phenomenon also exists on the larger high-beam radiators, especially when it is purely natural convection. The main reason for the heat dissipation process of the high pole lamp is the convective heat transfer between the radiator and the air. The natural convection is mainly caused by the exclusion of the external wind. Natural convection is caused by the cold air that is in contact with the radiator and is naturally heated by the radiator. The cold air next to it continues to be replenished, and the heat is taken away by such continuous circulation. If the radiator is too large, the hot air in the middle part will not be supplemented by enough cold air (the light source is hot and the air is relatively hot), which will cause the heat dissipation efficiency of the middle part to decrease and the temperature to rise. Form a heat island effect.
4, the overall design brings difficulties in later maintenance. The monolithic design refers to designing the entire light source of the luminaire as an unmaintainable whole, or the light source cavity and the power supply cavity together are designed as an unmaintainable whole. Practices in recent years have shown that high pole lights are not maintenance-free. Such an integrated luminaire is precisely unmaintainable. Generally, the failure that occurs after the road is on the elevated car cannot complete the maintenance task, and the entire lamp should be replaced and brought back to the factory for repair. This approach will force manufacturers to change from a manufacturer to a manufacturer and service provider, at a huge cost.
5, the sharp edges of the naked heat dissipation, does not meet the requirements of the lighting safety standards. Sharp edges are sharp corners of certain metal parts of the lamp body. There are at least three disadvantages to the existence of such sharp corners. First, the processing and handling process is difficult to protect and easy to curl. Second, the surface treatment is difficult. Whether it is electroplating or spray molding, the workpiece itself must be charged. At the sharp corners, the phenomenon of “convergence” is likely to occur, or the burnout is caused, or the coating (plating) is too thick. Thirdly, it is easy to injure the workers. Some manufacturers' lights are too sharp and the transfer workers are often scratched. It is even more dangerous if the workers are scratched when they are mounted on the overhead car. Untied, the consequences are unimaginable.
In response to the above five questions, this article explores some solutions. For the first and second problems, the author believes that a streamlined upper cover can be added to the luminaire. The streamlined upper cover should not have a large area, and it is best to have a middle height and a low perimeter. Of course, the cover should have a well-designed heat dissipation hole and a flow guiding surface. This has four advantages: First, the cover can reduce the damage of the exposed surface layer of the ultraviolet light on the surface of the heat: the shape of the second streamline is conducive to the accumulation of rainwater, and most of the water can be directly directed to the ground, reducing the acid and alkali substances to the lamps. Corrosion: Thirdly, the streamlined surface can greatly reduce the dust and snow accumulated on it, which helps to reduce the pressure of the lamp post and the lamp. Fourth, the streamlined surface can divide the wind into multiple directions and reduce the light pole. And lamp pressure.
For the third and fourth questions, it is recommended to “turn the luminaire into a zero”, abandon the overall form design and change to a modular design. For the fifth question, it is recommended that the luminaire design engineer be considered from the perspective of the operator, and pay attention to the details in the design.
In addition, in terms of design, traditional lighting has accumulated years of experience in modeling design, and semiconductor lighting engineers should absorb the essence of traditional lighting. Compared with traditional lighting, LED light source has a small head and flexible array features to achieve a variety of beautiful product design. In addition, the design engineer of semiconductor lighting combines regional culture to develop industrialized and artistic design products. The locality has its own unique regional culture and customs. Only the lamps designed according to local characteristics can be more popular with people, and also enable visitors to better understand the local characteristics.
At the same time, as a lighting designer, in addition to proficient in lighting common sense, it should also constantly improve its comprehensive quality, deepen life, know how to discover, feel the beauty of life, and integrate emotion into the design of the work, in order to achieve vitality, The idea of the luminaire design.
With the increasing competition in the industry, the Chinese market is becoming more and more international. Many SMEs lack the support of market networks and brands. They should take the road of professional development, pay attention to product quality, pay attention to the beauty of products and the comprehensive quality of products. The development center of the enterprise is to create a high-quality product with high quality, long life, exquisite and low price, in order to create a win-win situation for consumers, enterprises and the government.
