Although zinc is a trace element, it has a great effect on wheat with zinc, and the effect of increasing yield after application is obvious. This is mainly because zinc is a component of some enzymes involved in the formation of auxin, thus increasing the number and length of capillary roots. Zinc is involved in the synthesis of chlorophyll and the conversion of carbohydrates, which can improve the efficiency of photosynthesis and increase the effective tillering of wheat. Zinc deficiency in wheat will cause typical white streaks in the midrib of new leaves, brown spots on the base leaves, weak roots, few capillary roots, slow plant growth, and significantly reduced tillering rate, which is likely to cause freezing damage. Especially in the moderately and severely zinc-deficient plots, the symptoms can be maintained for a long time, causing the wheat to grow unevenly, resulting in severe yield reduction.

Field trials showed that in the greening period of wheat, the spraying of 20 kg of zinc to water on the foliar surface could promote the growth of wheat roots and tillers, and significantly reduce the total erosion of wheat.
