Application of special processing technology in aero engine manufacturing

In the development guarantee project and mass production process of the new generation of aircraft, in order to shorten the gap between domestic special processing technology and foreign advanced level, and to ensure independent research and development, the state's procurement of special processing equipment, instrumentation, construction of important facilities and personnel training, etc. Both sides have given strong support and invested a large amount of funds, which fully demonstrates the importance of advanced processing technology for the development of aero engines. The following is an example of the application of several special processing technologies in our factory.

Blade tooth processing

The blade is the most common part of the aero engine, and it is also a very important part. Whether it is a rotating or stationary blade, the size requirements are very high. Our factory has a turbine disk GH93 blade. The mounting part is a molar structure. The position tolerance is very high. This part is also a heavy-duty part. It has been milled by imported milling machine in the past. As shown in Figure 1, the special-purpose forming cutter is used for rough and fine milling, and has strict process control. Although this method can meet the size requirements, it is limited by high alloy materials, cutting line speed, tool wear and other factors, and work efficiency has not been high for a long time.

In recent years, with the need of mass production of blades, our factory has introduced special processing equipment for this type of products--creeping grinding machine, which is used for grinding and milling. The peristaltic grinding machine can grind the forming shape to the full depth through the workpiece at one time. The special process has the characteristics of forming the blank workpiece at one time. It can be combined with the rough and fine milling process to grind the blank once, and share the load of other machine milling. At the same time, the grinding wheel can be polished, trimmed and replaced according to the shape of the workpiece. Work efficiency has been greatly improved.

2. Honeycomb components special composite processing

The airflow sealing structure is often used between the rotating parts and the stationary parts of the turbine components of modern aero-engines to reduce the airflow loss and improve the engine power. The older generation engines mostly use sealed closed-tooth structures, but with the manufacturing process technology of China's aero-engines With continuous improvement, metal honeycomb vacuum brazing parts have been widely used in newly developed models. As shown in Figure 2, spot welding between honeycomb sheets is firm and reliable, and its structure and processing itself is a special processing technology. The technology is only produced in Beijing by a few factories, and the aero-engine honeycomb material is usually a high-temperature resistant alloy. The honeycomb outer ring is also a high temperature resistant alloy. The components are vacuum brazed and connected. Vacuum brazing Welding is another advanced welding process. For example, a certain type of gas turbine piloted by our factory uses a variety of honeycomb sealing components, as shown in Figure 3.
