**Abstract**
The 6th Zhengzhou International Seminar on Superhard Materials and Products, held in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Chinese synthetic diamonds, took place from November 13 to 17, 2013, in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, China. Organized by the Superhard Materials Branch of the China Machine Tool Industry Association and the National Engineering Technology Research Center for Superhard Materials and Products, the event brought together industry professionals, researchers, and experts from around the world. The seminar aimed to showcase the latest developments in superhard materials, promote technological innovation, and celebrate a significant milestone in China's diamond industry.
This special issue features a collection of essays contributed by leading experts and scholars in the field. These papers cover a wide range of topics, including the historical development of synthetic diamonds, recent scientific and technological advancements, new product innovations, and future trends in the superhard materials sector. All contributions were carefully reviewed and selected to ensure high-quality content and relevance to the industry.
**Call for Papers**
We invite authors to submit original research articles or review papers related to the following areas: synthetic diamond, cubic boron nitride, composite superhard materials, thin and thick films, nano-diamonds, various tools, functional superhard materials, auxiliary materials, and specialized equipment. Manuscripts should be written in either Chinese or English and must follow the formatting guidelines of the journal *Diamond and Abrasives Engineering*.
**Submission Guidelines**
- Electronic manuscripts are required.
- Images must be scanned at a resolution of at least 300 dpi.
- Original works that have not been previously published or presented at other conferences are preferred.
- Deadline for abstract submission: January 31, 2013.
- Final manuscript deadline: April 30, 2013.
