This product meets the requirements for joining ultra-high strength steel and softer materials under the set force limits known to the setting tool. This is mainly achieved by combining the optimum fastener size design with the required hardness. Böllhoff successfully used a material with a strength of 1,600 MPa and a sheet metal material with a thickness of 1.8 mm on the top layer for bonding purposes. These HDX rivets can be applied to wide flanges by RIVSET® self-cutting riveting.
