Experts from the Plant Protection Institute discovered a new virus of apple mosaic

Recently, the research team of economic crop virus diseases of the Institute of Plant Protection, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, working with China Agricultural University and Japanese fruit tree virus experts, used high-throughput sequencing technology to identify a new virus from apple mosaic samples, named apple necrosis Apple necrotic mosaic virus (ApNMV), and confirmed that this virus is highly related to apple mosaic disease in China, subverting the conventional understanding of the pathogen of apple mosaic disease.

It is reported that there are more than 40 kinds of virus diseases infecting apples, but most of them are latent infections, which do not cause obvious symptoms. The rust disease caused by viroid in recent years has brought a serious threat to the production of apples in our country, leading to large-scale destruction of the apple production area. In addition to rust disease, there is a visible viral disease on apples is apple mosaic disease. For a long time, people have thought that Apple Mosaic Disease in China is caused by Apple Mosaic Virus (ApMV) as reported abroad, but ApMV has not been detected in many domestic units after years of testing Therefore, the etiology of apple mosaic disease in China has been divided, and there is no final conclusion.

As we all know, accurate identification of pathogens is the prerequisite and basis for disease prevention and control. If there is a "misdiagnosis" in the pathogen identification stage, the prevention and control of the disease will be impossible to talk about, and it may even cause serious misleading to the prevention and control of the disease. In order to find out whether the apple mosaic disease in China is "unusual", whether there is a difference between the pathogens of apple mosaic disease in China and abroad, and the mechanism of the pathogenic difference between China and abroad, researchers such as Plant Protection High-throughput sequencing technology identified a new virus from apple mosaic samples, named Apple necrotic mosaic virus (ApNMV). The team collected nearly 300 apple mosaic samples from China's main apple producing areas for pathogen identification. Surprisingly, ApMV was not detected in nearly 300 apple mosaic samples, and the detection rate of ApNMV was as high as 92%. Further research also shows that ApNMV and ApMV have obvious differences in biology, serology or genomic sequence, and belong to two different viruses.

The above results indicate that there is no relationship between Apple Mosaic Disease and ApMV in China, and ApNMV may be the real pathogen causing Apple Mosaic Disease in China. The team is using the gene gun method to retrieve apple seedlings in order to obtain direct evidence that ApNMV has caused apple mosaic disease in China. This achievement subverts the people's conventional knowledge of the pathogen of apple mosaic disease in China, and also challenges the prevention and control of the disease in the future, confirming that there is indeed a difference between the pathogens of apple mosaic disease in China and abroad. 4. Use Method:

The product is weak cationic, it can be used with cation and nonionic additive, such as cationic starch,basic dye and polyvinyl alcohol etc, but cannot be mix used with additive of strong cation.

The consumption of the product depends on the quality of base paper, internal sizing and size resistance. It is usually 0.5-2.5% of oven dry weight.
