Tianniu, also known as dried worm, belongs to the family Cerambycidae. China's citrus production areas have occurred. The main species are Starbucks, Brown Beech, and Light Shield.
Harmful symptoms
It is a fruit tree such as citrus and grapes. The larvae feed on the trunk and the xylem of the big branch about 0.5 m from the ground, and wood chips are often discharged from the wormhole. After the tree is damaged, the water and nutrient transportation are blocked, and the tree is weak. The damaged branches and stems will die or be easily blown off by the wind.
Morphological characteristics
Adults of the brown beetle are 26 to 51 mm long. It is brown when it is hatched. Oval oval, 2 to 3 mm long, milky to taupe. The larvae are 46 to 56 mm long, milky white and flat cylindrical. The 蛹 is about 40 mm long and is light beige.
Living habit
The second anniversary of the brown beetle occurs for one generation, with larvae or adults overwintering. Most adults go out of the hole from May to July. Adults lurk in the cave during the day, and go out in the evening activities, especially before the rainy night before 8:9. Adults lay eggs in the bark of trunks and branches of more than 0.5 m above the ground, and inhabit the branches between rainy days; spawning is mostly at noon on sunny days, and is produced at the intersection of tender green branchlets or the intersection of petioles and twigs. From mid-June to early July, the eggs hatch. The larvae first graze upwards, and when the twigs are difficult to contain the worms, they feed down again, causing the twigs to die.
Control method
1. Capture the adult beetle on the tree, especially in the evening, especially before the rain, 8 to 9 in the evening;
2. Woodpecker is the best natural enemy of the beetle;
3. Strengthen cultivation management to make the tree strong and keep the trunk smooth;
4. Block holes, remove dead branches and moss lichens to reduce spawning and remove some eggs and larvae;
5. Before and after the fall, artificially kill the larvae; sixthly, before and after the fall and Qingming, remove the sawdust from the wormhole, and insert the cotton cockroach 40% Lego emulsifiable concentrate or 80% dichlorvos emulsifiable concentrate 5-10 times into the wormhole, and then use the mud. Seal the orifice to kill the larvae; also spray the trunk and tree neck with 50% to 60 times liquid at 40% dimethoate during the spawning period.
