Experimental study on cutting cotton stalk by toothed chain cutter

Xinjiang is China's largest commodity cotton base. It has abundant cotton rod resources. Cotton rods have high nutritional value. The protein content is generally 8%9%. After micro-treatment, the protein content can be as high as 12%, which is better than wheat straw. The protein content of straw is 56 times higher. It can be used as feed for cattle and sheep. It can also be used as a medium for pollution-free food edible fungi after smashing cotton stalks. Disposable tableware made of straw is non-polluting, degradable and recyclable. At the same time, the cotton stalk is a good wood substitute, which can be used to produce man-made fibers, and at the same time can manufacture board and fiberboard, fiberboard, sound-absorbing panels and other materials for building materials, and process data collection process for crops with thicker stems. As shown, there are fewer trials. To this end, the project was established, and the cotton rod was used as the cutting object to carry out the cutting test of the toothed chain cutter, in order to lay the foundation for the development of the new machine for harvesting the cotton rod.

1 Test materials and methods The cotton rods used in the test materials were obtained from the test base of Shihezi University, and the average moisture content was 1.2. The equipment used in this test was a self-made cutting test bench. The overall structure is as shown, mainly by data processing system, sensors, The cutter assembly, the transport guide rail, the transport trolley, the gearbox assembly, the drive shaft assembly and the test bench are composed.

1.3 Data acquisition and test method The cutting process is carried out on the cotton rod cutting test bench. The motor power is 5KW. The cotton rod is fixed on the two clamping plates on the transport trolley. The simulated cotton rod moves in the field on the transport rail. The output power of the motor is transmitted to the cutting device drive shaft through the torque and speed sensor. It is used to collect the torque and speed parameter values ​​of the drive shaft. The data is automatically displayed and recorded by the computer, and the power consumption required for cutting off is calculated. The flow chart is as shown.

2 Test and result analysis Test factors In the production, the user's requirements for cotton rod harvesting have three aspects: height, productivity and power consumption. There are three performance factors related to the machine.

The minimum clearance of the cutter under the blade is set to 10cm, the cotton rod is on the test bench The clamping height is 810cm. 2.2 Test index After the harvested cotton rod, more than 10 straws are randomly selected to observe whether the section structure is smooth and the power consumption.

2.3 Test results and analysis The test collection data is shown in Table 1.

When the maximum cutting speed is lower than 800r/min, the cutting effect is as shown, the cotton rod cannot be cut smoothly, but is pulled by the clamping force of the clamping plate and the pulling and pulling force between the cutting blades. In order to get a better cutting effect, the speed should continue to increase. When the maximum cutting speed is higher than 1000r/min, the cutting effect is as shown, the cutting is smooth and stable, and there is basically no pulling or smashing phenomenon. It is found by the cutting effect that the cotton stalk cutting end face is smooth. The test shows that when the cutting speed is about 1000r/min, the toothed chain cutter can realize the smooth cutting of the cotton stalk. With the increase of the cutting speed, the cutting effect is better. Good, but the power consumption is also increased, the noise is also large, so the best cutting speed is when the speed is 8001000r/min. At this time, the power consumption is small, the rotation speed is stable, and the maximum torque is also small.

When the cutting speed is higher than 1000r/min, the cutting effect is better, but the power consumption is larger; when it is lower than 800r/min, the pulling and twisting phenomenon of the cotton rod will occur during the cutting process, and the rotation speed is high and low at this time. The correct cutting process of the cotton rod cannot be successfully completed.

This test provides a theoretical basis for the cutting and harvesting of cotton stalks.

(3) This test is carried out in the laboratory, and there are certain differences and gaps with the actual field operations. It is planned to do specific analysis and research in future research.
