Pakistan's Natural Gas Supply Cut Causes 600 Units to Close

More than 600 industrial units, including textile processing plants, printing plants, rubber factories, dyeing plants, finished products plants, chemical plants and soap factories, have closed their doors from 6 am Friday morning for 84 hours due to Sui North Natural Gas Pipeline Co., Ltd. suspended its natural gas supply.

More than 380 filling stations have been shut down for two days, and more than 100,000 power looms have been continuously shut down for three days this week. This is due to the fact that rubber factories cannot routinely supply rubber yarns to the power weaving industry.

The decision to suspend electricity for 10-12 hours in the industrial zone also fueled the fire. More than 400,000 workers are facing severe problems and there is no alternative to their lives.

Residents in different parts of the industrial city still complain that low natural gas pressures affect their cooking and other domestic work. Affected residents strongly demand immediate restoration of natural gas supply in urban areas.

At a press conference, Salamat, president of the North Division of the Khimi Knitwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association (PHMA) North. Ali said that the natural gas supply suspension plan will have a negative impact on the entire industrial sector, and the industrial sector has just passed the power shortage and severely worsened order and legal process.

Salamat expressed sadness over Sui Northern Natural Gas Pipeline Co., Ltd.'s violation of the Prime Minister's instructions and media announcements. The current natural gas stoppage plan will promote the collapse of export-oriented and labor-intensive value-added textile industries.

The APTPMA rejected the four-day suspension plan announced by Sui North Natural Gas Pipeline Co., Ltd., which is believed to affect the national economy and exports.
