Crop growth prevention zinc deficiency

Zinc is one of the nutrients necessary for crops. Whether the crop is deficient in zinc is not only related to the crop type and the effective zinc content of the soil, but also affected by many other factors. Excessive application of phosphorus fertilizer, zinc activity is inhibited, although the soil is rich in effective zinc content, there will still be symptoms of zinc deficiency, which is often seen in many greenhouse production, in this case, attention should be paid to the application of zinc fertilizer. Improper application of lime can also cause a decrease in the effectiveness of zinc in the soil, resulting in zinc deficiency in the crop.

Zinc deficiency symptoms At present, the most common symptoms of zinc deficiency are lobular disease, yellow disease, and scutellaria. The white seedling disease of corn is also related to zinc deficiency. Because zinc affects the formation of auxin, the zinc-deficient plants are short, the internodes are short, the leaf expansion and elongation are inhibited, the leaflets appear, and the leaf edges are distorted and wrinkled. There is an inter-pulmonary chlorosis near the midrib and may develop into brown spots or tissue necrosis. The general symptoms first appear on the new tissue. For example, the new leaves are grayish green or yellowish white, the growth and development are delayed, the fruit is small, and the root growth is poor.

Corn is one of the most sensitive field crops for zinc. When the soil is deficient in zinc, white seedling disease occurs in about 10 days after emergence, that is, the chlorosis between the young leaves is yellowish or pale white. Apples, peaches, pears, etc. in the fruit trees, in addition to the chlorosis of the leaves in the absence of zinc, are prone to small leaf clumps at the tip of the shoots, and the growth is rosette-like. In severe cases, the branches die.

The application of zinc fertilizer is carried out in the diagnosis of zinc nutrition in plants and soil. When zinc deficiency is found, it should be supplemented with zinc. The methods for supplementing zinc include soil application, foliar application, soaking, and seed dressing. Commonly used fertilizers are industrial zinc sulfate. When used as a base fertilizer, it is generally mixed with other fertilizers. The dosage is 1 kg to 3 kg per mu, and the application is uniform. When soaking seeds, seed dressing or spraying, use 0.1% aqueous solution.
